Story : Sirphire is an upcoming Punjabi movie starring Preet Harpal, Gurleen Chopra, Monica Bedi, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Roshan Prince, Raj Babbar, B.N. Sharma, Shavinder Mahal, and the comedian Karamjeet Anmol among others. The film is produced by Angad Singh and is directed by Harjit Ricky under the label of Speed Records.
In an interview by Jaspreet Nijher, Monica Bedi said, “Kaam koi
bada ya chotta nahi hota, kaam toh kaam hota hai. For me, no film or
industry is big or small. I have enjoyed doing all the other regional
cinemas with as much passion. As for mainstream, if that has to happen,
it will.” She further adds, “But now it was time for me to come
back home to Punjab. I was waiting eagerly to do a Punjabi film. I am
so glad I am finally getting to do it.”
By the joint venture of Speed Records and Emerging India, the movie
has been shot in Chandigarh and the adjoining areas. Preet Harpal will
be seen opposite Gurleen Chopra and Priyanshu Chatterjee, who is
Bollywood’s all time famous movie “Tum Bin” fame and will be seen first
time in a Punjabi movie, is playing opposite Monica Bedi.
Produced by Gurpreet Singh Sidhu and directed by Harjit Singh Ricky,
this Punjabi movie is getting released on 10th of August 2012. Jatinder
Shah has given the music for the film under the label of Speed Records.

Carry On Jatta is a 2012 Indian Punjabi film.
Carry On Jatta, is an upcoming Punjabi Film starring Gippy Grewal and Mahie Gill in
the lead, it is a romantic comedy flick.The film is revolves around a set of people out of the oddball and whose fallacy about each other’s backgrounds leads them into a muddled situation. The outcome of the whole chaotic scenario is comically related marital mix ups. The film in the end is a total bedlam that the guys hide their wives and family from each other.
The cast also includes Gurpreet Ghuggi, Khushboo Grewal, Binnu Dhillon, B.N.Sharma and Karamjit Anmol. The film is directed
by Sameep Kang.
The film is Gippy’s Grewal’s home production; brother Sippy
Grewal and Pushpinder Happy have co-produced the film under
Gurfateh Films and Sippy Grewal Productions banner.
There has been a grapevine that Inderjit Nikku would be doing a cameo in the film.
‘Carry on Jatta’ is ready to hit the theaters on 27, July.
The year 2012 has brought nothing but reasons to cheer for
Punjabi singer-cum-actor, Gippy Grewal. After his song, Angreji Beat,
became a national hit, thanks to Saif and Deepika starrer Cocktail, Gippy launched his own production house - Gurfateh Films and Sippy Grewal Productions.What's next is his production house's first movie, an out-and-out comedy, Carry On Jatta, which hits theatres on July 27. A very elated Gippy gets candid with HT City about Carry On Jatta, Bollywood and his upcoming projects.
First thing first, we touch upon his upcoming movie, about which
he says, "I'm playing the role of a boy called Jass, who falls in
love with a girl.It's basically a situational comedy. I'm sure Punjabi cinema has not seen such a comedy before. Also, it's one of my best works,opposite such a wonderful actor like Mahie Gill. "
About the movie's director, Smeep Kang, Gippy says, "When I went
to see his previous movie, Chak De Phatte, I was not sure
what kind of a movie it was. But the day I saw it, I realised the stronghold that the movie had in terms of comedy. Despite the fact that there was no designated hero, the movie revolved around the supporting cast.
The treatment of the film, probably, was not as strong. After
that, I knew I wanted to work with Smeep when I launched my own
production house. And, here we are today, ready with Carry On Jatta."With two more comedy flicks in the kitty, Gippy, 30, seems to be aiming at becoming the reigning funny man of Punjabi cinema. |
