Story : TV and film actor, Jaspal Bhatti, better known
for his popular comedy serials – ‘Ulta Pulta’ and ‘Flop Show’, has
launched his new comedy film, 'Power Cut'.
Written and directed by Bhatti, this Punjabi film , ‘Power Cut' is a
love story set in the backdrop of power politics. In other words, the
film brings out the plight of ordinary people whose lives have been made
miserable by frequent power cuts on a day-to-day basis.
Veteran film actor, Prem Chopra, plays the role of a Power Minister
while Rajesh Puri is casted in the role of a CMD of a power corporation.
Jafar, a student of Bhatti's Mad Arts Film School, is in the romantic
lead opposite Surlie Gautam of TV serial,'Meet Mila De Rabba'. Bhatti's
son - Jasraj, an animator by profession also makes his debut in the film
and completes the love triangle.
Produced by Paveljit Singh, Power Cut has some racy numbers by Mikka and
Sunidhi Chauhan, set to the music composed by Gurmeet Singh.

Carry On Jatta is a 2012 Indian Punjabi film.
Carry On Jatta, is an upcoming Punjabi Film starring Gippy Grewal and Mahie Gill in
the lead, it is a romantic comedy flick.The film is revolves around a set of people out of the oddball and whose fallacy about each other’s backgrounds leads them into a muddled situation. The outcome of the whole chaotic scenario is comically related marital mix ups. The film in the end is a total bedlam that the guys hide their wives and family from each other.
The cast also includes Gurpreet Ghuggi, Khushboo Grewal, Binnu Dhillon, B.N.Sharma and Karamjit Anmol. The film is directed
by Sameep Kang.
The film is Gippy’s Grewal’s home production; brother Sippy
Grewal and Pushpinder Happy have co-produced the film under
Gurfateh Films and Sippy Grewal Productions banner.
There has been a grapevine that Inderjit Nikku would be doing a cameo in the film.
‘Carry on Jatta’ is ready to hit the theaters on 27, July.
The year 2012 has brought nothing but reasons to cheer for
Punjabi singer-cum-actor, Gippy Grewal. After his song, Angreji Beat,
became a national hit, thanks to Saif and Deepika starrer Cocktail, Gippy launched his own production house - Gurfateh Films and Sippy Grewal Productions.What's next is his production house's first movie, an out-and-out comedy, Carry On Jatta, which hits theatres on July 27. A very elated Gippy gets candid with HT City about Carry On Jatta, Bollywood and his upcoming projects.
First thing first, we touch upon his upcoming movie, about which
he says, "I'm playing the role of a boy called Jass, who falls in
love with a girl.It's basically a situational comedy. I'm sure Punjabi cinema has not seen such a comedy before. Also, it's one of my best works,opposite such a wonderful actor like Mahie Gill. "
About the movie's director, Smeep Kang, Gippy says, "When I went
to see his previous movie, Chak De Phatte, I was not sure
what kind of a movie it was. But the day I saw it, I realised the stronghold that the movie had in terms of comedy. Despite the fact that there was no designated hero, the movie revolved around the supporting cast.
The treatment of the film, probably, was not as strong. After
that, I knew I wanted to work with Smeep when I launched my own
production house. And, here we are today, ready with Carry On Jatta."With two more comedy flicks in the kitty, Gippy, 30, seems to be aiming at becoming the reigning funny man of Punjabi cinema. |
